I didn’t watch the Oscars live but got myself updated after every award Slumdog Millionaire fetched for itself-felt proud that a film on India was fetching its crew some awards. This post is dedicated to Rahman…..one of the best music directors of contemporary cinema, if not the greatest!!....Never ever even in my wildest dreams did I know that a Tamilian would go to the Oscar stage and make us all proud by starting his speech in Hindi, continuing in English and last but not the least, ending in Tamil. When some of the people from Tamil Nadu feel ashamed to speak their mother tongue, here is a man who after reaching such a peak doesn’t hesitate to end his speech in Tamizh. Hats-off to the maestro.
As an Indian I only wish Rahman all the best in the years to come.
PSst: In my previous post I had written if this film ever deserved an oscar….I m not sure about that even now whether it deserved it but as an Indian I am very proud of Rahman-how much he has achieved as an Indian!!!

Buddy,
I don't think the oscars is an international platform. Its American. And Slumdog or ARR won the oscars cos the movie is American.
ARR would have probably done a 1000 other "original scores" that r faaar better than jai ho, but none of them hit the international stage cos there is no rational avenue for showcasing international movie talent
Had slubdog been an "indian" movie with the SAME team as the american one, not a soul would have recognised ARR or anyone else for their contribution
Oh yeah....If u read my previous post, thats wat i ve said....But then as an Indian all we can do is only congratulate him and feel elated that an Indian has won it at The Big stage.....
